When I heard London girl trio M.O’s Dance On My Own over a month ago, I was instantaneously adamant that it was going to be a hit. It’s such a catchy R&B pop tune, bringing back the sounds of TLC and Destiny’s Child from back in the day, but updated with more futuristic house and garage production that’s simply irresistible. It’s still one of the most infectious tunes I’ve heard in the past while, up there with the likes of Kiesza’s Hideaway. Plus, it also sports a music video that’s imbibed with throwback dance moves. The newcomers are sure to make a mark with this one. For a deeper, bass heavy club version of the tune, check out this remix by Hostage, which premiered on Mixmag. The dope new version also carries some sultry saxophone, always a huge plus in my books.
I love the girls. And I love what we do. We’re so tight together and we all kinda play different roles. We’ve got different humour. Like, I’ll pull alot of funny faces. Jesy does her accents. Leigh’s just funny without realizing shes funny. And Perrie’s just really cute and bubbly.
